Blog Notes’ Blogging Journey Has a New Website Directory

Best Email Marketing Apps

This week’s Blog Notes brings new opportunities for bloggers and small businesses to earn additional backlinks to their websites. The new portal offers both free and premium submissions. The blog is owned by Jamaican blogger Teron Brown.  Here is his blogging journey.

Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog because I saw how many business owners, entrepreneurs, and even everyday people struggled to understand how SEO, backlinks, and website visibility actually worked. There’s so much noise online, and many small websites don’t have the budget or resources to compete. With Link My Site, I wanted to create a platform that not only showcases websites in a curated directory but also provides practical tips, strategies, and insights through blogging.

My goal has always been to break down complex topics into clear, actionable advice while giving businesses a chance to gain real visibility online. The blog is an extension of that mission–helping people discover new ways to grow, whether through backlinks, content, or marketing.

What were your darkest moments during the blogging journey?

blogging journey

My darkest moments came during the early stages of blogging when I was putting in hours of research, writing, editing, and publishing–yet seeing little to no traction. I would check analytics daily and sometimes feel discouraged when traffic barely moved or when I questioned if people actually cared about the content I was putting out. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re creating in what feels like silence.

Another challenge was managing everything alone–content creation, promotion, SEO, and site management–which can feel overwhelming without a team. Those moments of doubt made me wonder if I should pivot or stop altogether, but pushing through them taught me patience, resilience, and that growth takes consistent effort, not overnight results.

What were your greatest moments during the blogging journey?

One of my greatest moments was when I saw my content begin to rank on Google much faster than expected. Seeing a new blog post appear on the first page within weeks, without a massive backlink profile, gave me a sense of validation that my SEO strategies were working. Another big highlight was when I started noticing organic referral traffic from my posts, proving that the content wasn’t just sitting there but actually attracting readers who were engaging and exploring further.

The feeling of publishing something valuable and then seeing people discover it, learn from it, and even reach out because of it–that’s incredibly rewarding. It reminded me that blogging isn’t just about traffic numbers but about impact, credibility, and building something long-term that keeps growing.

How are you currently marketing or promoting your blog?

Right now, I focus on a multi-channel approach to promote my blog. I actively share posts across social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, and niche communities where people are looking for SEO and website growth insights. I also leverage guest posting opportunities like this one to expand my reach and connect with new audiences.

On the technical side, I optimize every blog for SEO, from meta tags and structured data to internal linking and snippet optimization, so that they have the best chance of ranking high on Google. Backlink outreach is another major part of my strategy–collaborating with other site owners, contributing articles, and exchanging value to build authority.

I am just interested in learning and using all types of digital marketing methods. The mix of organic SEO, social visibility, and guest posting has been key in steadily increasing both my traffic and domain authority.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

content marketing

For the rest of the year, my focus is on scaling the growth of Link My Site by doubling down on content creation, improving backlink authority, and expanding the directory so more websites can gain visibility. I plan to publish more in-depth guides that go beyond surface-level advice, aiming for content that ranks not only on Google but also earns mentions, shares, and long-term credibility.

Another big focus is outreach–partnering with more bloggers, businesses, and digital creators to build lasting collaborations. On the technical side, I’ll continue refining SEO strategies to ensure Link My Site grows into one of the most trusted curated website directories online.

By year’s end, my goal is to have stronger traffic numbers, higher rankings, and a platform that serves as both a resource for readers and a growth tool for businesses.

You can submit your blog or website to the new website directory.
