April Pad is introducing a new weekly contest and it’s all about your comments. Win weekly prizes for making comments on selected articles each week. As expected the contest will revolve around select articles that will be announced at the start of the week.
Each week, registered users will make comments on five selected articles. A panel made up of three judges will select the best comment for each article and so elect the top writer for that week.
Contest Rules for Commenting Competition
Members who wish to participate must abide by the following rules.
- Must be a registered user with only one account
- Must comment in English
- Must comment on all five articles
- Must be sixteen years or older
How to Make Your Comments a Winning Comment
Writing a comment is like creating a mini-review, or an opinionated point related to the content. You can write what you think about the article but must focus on something the story addresses. Using the Pied Piper review as an example, the Pad User Emmarific said
I love this article. The Pied Piper of Hamelin has become a timeless piece of literature, captivating readers with its blend of folklore, morality, and the consequences of not keeping one’s promises.
The phrase, the consequences of not keeping one’s promises, shows the reader understands the reviewer’s point. In addition, it adds impetus to the article. Likewise, try to make your comments align with the story/
Furthermore, your viewpoint is essential. Not everyone will agree with the story and it is important that your [point is clear. In the example above, the readers support the reviewer’s point of view.
Length: One thing that commentators often fail to note is that they can say more than the writer in a few words. Keep your comments concise but also natural. Write at least 25 words with at least two sentences.
