After Avatar made its stunning debut it became clear that the bar had changed for “Epic Science Fiction” movies. The new race grabbed hold of us and pulled us into Pandora. The mystery and intrigue found its name then – Zoe Saldaña.
Every single scene, movement, challenge, or battle became so real. It made me wonder why I had never seen this actress before. Sure, I had seen her in other movies, but not as the reason for the movie. It was her war cry, her rebuke of Jack Sully, her leaping and shooting- that made it all so real.
However, this was not lost on Saldaña either. At the D23 expo in California during the presentation of Avatar, Way of Water. she shared her view on the then-upcoming film.
“(I am) wanting Avatar 2: Way of Water, wanting its reception to be similar to the first, where people are just taken for a ride,” Saldana says. “Where they get to learn, they get to live, they get to feel, but also they get to think a lot about who we are, and what we are, and where we are.”
She returned as the beautiful chief, warrior, and wife of Jack Sully who is now the father and leader of their family. But who is Zoe Saldana and what has she achieved in these years?
Who Is Zoe Saldaña – Essence of the Avatar Movie Franchise
The American actress was born in June 1978 and started out with TV episodes in Law and Order (1999), but her film career rolled out a year later in Center Stage. She had only seen an upward climb from there on.
Before the Avatar movie, she appeared in top movies with the roles of María in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pear,l (2003), and as Nyota in the movie Star Trek (2009).
She is also known for the following movies after Avatar (2009) – Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), the sequel, Guardian of the Galaxy 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
Needless to say, the actress has been extremely busy. Her roles have not gone unrewarded. Saldana is the proud recipient of many awards. She is one of the top ten actresses that has won an award for Best Actress. She has won ten awards in this role – including the Empire and the Saturn awards.
In addition, Saldaña won trophies for the best-supporting actress from Teens Choice and ALMA Awards. After being nominated 37 times, she is one of the favorite girls on the screen today. And with the Avatar 3 on everyone’s mind, you can bet she isn’t going anywhere soon.

Zoe Saldaña is part of a loving family. A great lover of Avatar privacy, she got married secretly to the Italian, Marco Perego, in June 2013 exchanging their marriage vows in a celebration ceremony in London. A year later, the couple impressed their fans with the news of incoming babies – that’s correct. Twins, In November 2014, the star gave birth to her beautiful kids Cy Aridio and Bowie Ezio.
Two years later, the family grew again. This time in December 2016, Zen Hilario would make Saldaña and Perego, proud parents of what was now three boys.
