However, a few terms are worth defining just before we list these steps.

  • What exactly is SEO editing, and do you need it?
  • What is an SEO content editor, and where can you use it?

We will answer each of these questions below.

What Is SEO Editing?

SEO editing is the process of modifying your content to comply with search engine requirements. Making certain adjustments to your blog qualifies it for a place in search results.

Most of these changes are made within the article and visible to humans visiting your site. These include basic SEO steps like

  • Linking internal content to your article
  • including an external reference from your piece
  • Improving your content visibility by adding images, etc.

Other adjustments are hidden from visitors and only provide information to search bots. These SEO edits are called meta tags and include a title and a description.

That is why most SEO editing is classified as on-page SEO since it is performed on the page content. It is recommended that you use an SEO content editor.

What Is an SEO Content Editor?

SEO Editing

Only a few bloggers understand scripting languages. So, to make SEO editing easy without technical knowledge, writers use SEO content editors.

An SEO content editor is an app or software that helps bloggers modify their content. These apps usually perform or evaluate the following elements.

  • Content length
  • Images and alternative text
  • External and internal links
  • Subheading distribution
  • Meta tags

One of the most popular SEO content editors is AISEO. The letters stand for All-In-One SEO, and it does just that. The plugin merges effortlessly with all WordPress themes, and the free version is good enough to help you rank.

Please note that April Pad is not an affiliate of this app. However, we have found it to be an excellent choice.

Features of AISEO Plugin

The AISEO WordPress plugin has most of the features that a beginner needs to rank a website. They are presented in a dashboard that is easy to navigate.

Each feature is carefully explained, and a video guide is available to enhance the installation process. Here are some of the most used features.

  1. Word Count: AISEO encourages a minimum word count of 300 for an SEO article. Compared to other apps like RankMath, which has a minimum of 600+, Google does not require a minimum word count.
  2. Meta Tags: The software provides an open textbox with suggestions for the meta title and description (See below for more explanation). You can make adjustments or use them if they meet the criteria.
  3. Article Decoration: The AISEO app has an evaluation system that gives points to each element completed satisfactorily. The evaluation is based on Google’s SEO requirements, which include the use of headings, subheadings, and images.
  4. Readability, Sentences, and Active Voice: One of my favorite features of this SEO editor is its syntax aids. The app provides a readability score, monitors sentence length, and evaluates the usage of active or passive voice.
  5. Keyword Usage: Another great feature of AISEO is the keyword monitor. This tool teaches the writer to add keywords in required places, including the title, subheadings, body, and URL.

There are tons of other features that you will discover as you use the plugin.

How to Install AISEO on Your WordPress Platform

Using the WordPress platform makes it easy to install any app or plugin on your website. AISEO is no exception, and you can start using the software with just a few clicks.

  • Open your WordPress dashboard and click on “Plugins.”
  • Select “Add New Plugin.”
  • In the search box, type “AISEO”
  • When the app appears in the search results, click “Install.”
  • After a few seconds, an “Activate” button will appear. Click the activate button.
  • You can then follow the setup wizard and are good to go.

You are now ready to create better SEO articles and perform SEO editing.

How to Edit Your SEO Content in 7 Easy Steps?

Here are seven steps to edit your SEO content and rank better. Following these steps will not guarantee your website will be in the top ten search engine results. However, you will be completing 60% of Google’s requirements.

#1: Write People-first Content

People-first content is essential to ranking your blog, and this is where you must begin. In 2024, many big websites, including HubSpot, lost rankings due to SEO-first articles.

According to April Pad, “People-first content is nothing new, and most people write this way. This type of article speaks to humans instead of search engine bots. It is generally straightforward, easy to follow, and makes sense to the reader.”

When you write content, focus on telling your story to your audience. Do not concentrate on search engine ranking factors. When you are finished writing, SEO-edit your content.

This way, you will have the best of both worlds: a people-first content article fully optimized for search engines.

#2: Your Content Structure and SEO Editing

The best content structure is like a shopping list. It has a title, an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. Within these subsets, additional elements are known as headings and subheadings.

Here is a typical example:

  • Title or Heading: How to Make Your Bed? This is the most essential part of your article, as the reader will decide whether to read it or not. If the reader gets hooked by your title, you need an introduction to keep them reading.
  • Introduction: I bet you don’t know how to make your bed! This short guide will surprise you and help you do it better. The introduction should pique the reader’s interest. Giving them an incentive to keep reading.
  • Body: This is where you discuss, share, impress, and guide your audience. Break up your body into short paragraphs with two to three sentences. You can further enhance your story by using catchy subheadings to separate your ideas.
  • Conclusion: Every story has a good ending. This is the last part of your article and summarizes your main points. You can make an invitation to the reader, which is defined as a call to action.

Your article is now ready with a consistent content structure that will help your audience enjoy your story.

#3: Content Source and Hyperlink Usage

SEO Editing

Adding references to your content helps to make it more credible. Google recognizes this style of SEO editing, which you can do from your WordPress console.

A hyperlink is a reference source with a URL linked to another website or page. Two main types of hyperlinks are used in on-page SEO editing.

  1. Adding External Links: External links are hyperlinks that refer to websites outside your pages. They recognize another source as an authority for more information on the issue.
  2. Internal Links: Google expects your website to discuss a central topic or niche. Websites confirm that they comply with this rule by hyperlinking to other content on their pages. These are called internal links.

The AISEO SEO content editor awards the usage of internal and external links. Besides assigning points to both links, it also reminds you to insert hyperlinks in your content.

#4: How to Use Meta Tags in SEO Editing

Meta tags are unique SEO snippets that provide data to search engines. This information helps search engine crawlers index your website appropriately.

There are three kinds of meta tags that SEOs must edit.

  • The Title: The is a brief description of your article’s topic. It should be 55 – 60 characters, including pace. AISEO provides an editable contextual box that will help you measure the length of your title.
  • The Description: A description is usually taken from your introduction paragraph. It can be up to 160 characters and appears in the search engine search results along with the title. You must also edit this in your AISEO console.
  • Tags or Keywords: Some SEOs like to list between 3 – 5 keywords related to their articles. This is unimportant, but you can do so if you like.

Crafting excellent meta tags can enhance the visibility of our website on search engines.

#5: How to Edit Images and Videos in Your Content

Adding images and videos is one of the best ways to keep readers moving through your pages. Each image should be clear and of high quality. Pexels is a free stock image website where you find images.

Images should be distributed based on the length of your article.

  • Use a featured image below your title
  • Use an additional image for every 300 words
  • Add videos below a subheading

Make sure that your images have user permissions.

#6: How to Add Keywords to Your Content

SEO Editing

Another critical stage of SEO editing is adding keywords to your content. You can introduce the keywords throughout your content as long as they are used naturally.

One of these types of keywords, the primary keyword, is the phrase or word most relevant to your content. You must insert it in the following positions of your article.

  1. Use once in your title.
  2. In your subheadings. The SEO content editor will guide you on the number of subheadings in which you should insert your primary keyword.
  3. Include it sparingly and naturally throughout the body of your content.
  4. Make sure that they appear in your meta tags.
  5. Add it to your content URL
  6. Add your primary keyword to your image alternate text field.

After you add your keywords, your article is almost ready to publish

#7: How to Conclude Your SEO Editing

The final step in SEO editing your article is making it readable. All written content must be readable by an 8th-grade student before it gets high rankings on Google.

The AISEO SEO content editor uses the Flesch scoring system, which is also used by Google and the rest of the world. An article should have a reliability score of at least 60.

You can achieve this by applying the following to your article.

  • Use simple, easy-to-understand terms.
  • Write short sentences of less than 20 words
  • Insert subheadings
  • Use numbered lists or bullet points.
  • Answer your subheading points in the paragraphs.

Conclusion

SEO editing can be performed by any blogger who follows these seven simple steps. Editing your website content will help it rank better on search engines.

I use Rankmath, which is true; each article must be at least 600 words. I’m curious: how important is it to have a number in your title?
