Indie developer Round Toast Studios has released its debut game, Mortal Rite, for Early Access for PC via Steam. Featuring a complete game loop, the Early Access version will showcase a vast array of gameplay options. These include three playable characters, 18 enemies, five boss battles, two skill trees per character, cooperative multiplayer, and player-versus-player.

According to a press release from the studio, “Mortal Rite is an action-packed crossover between a Souls-like and Roguelike game where gamers fight solo or side-by-side with up to 5 co-op players, utilizing swappable abilities and items while using the bodies of resurrected champions. ”

At the center of the video game is the ability to embody various characters and use their unique lore, fighting style, and abilities. Although the game is built on melee combat, players can trade blows with their enemies while reaping rewards for great strategies.

One feature in Mortal Rite that you will love, is ambushing the king.  By carefully employing strategies, cooperation, collecting, and crafting items, players can derail the king’s armies and plans. It’s that easy but not that simple. The old king is not a walkover. So get set for a good fight.

Mortal Rite for PC launches in Early Access on November 7

That is the good news! As early as November 7, you can start embodying characters, trading blows with foes, and toppling the king. Ideally, you can head over to Steam Early Access and register or just take a look around. You will like it.

In addition, you can choose between co-op multiplayer or solo mode from the onset of the game with up to five players. Not bad, right? However, you must be careful as larger co-ops will draw bigger enemy units to the battle. Yet, it’s a lot more fun taking out the king.

Ideally, you must be wondering what are the special features of this new game from Round Toast Studios. After all, it is their first game and it better be good enough to hook us, make a lasting impression, and bring on the thrills. Yet, it is impressive so far and looks a bit more like Soulslike, but really unique. Here is a closer look at the features.
