Just before Christmas surprises are jingling bells all over the gaming market. This time, it’s an unexpected partnership between Darrington Press and Alchemy to bring Tal’Dorei gaming content to the platform.

According to the Critical Wiki, “Tal’Dorei is the name used by humans to refer to the entire continent on Exandria in which the Republic of Tal’Dorei rests, though this is purely a human conflation. The Elvish name for the continent is Gwessar, meaning “Fields of Joy“.”

Ivan Van Norman, Head of Publishing at Critical Role, said that the game was already available on Alchemy and users can explore Exandria and discover its magic. The role-playing video game is set to increase the number of users and enhance gameplay on Alchemy.

In addition, Alchemy has created a special edition that features Tal’Dorei Reborn. The Alchemy Enhanced Edition will be available to gamers and will include:

• a collection of supplemental media to amplify immersion.
• a 10-minute looping dynamic soundtrack that enables a gamemaster to adjust the intensity of the music in real-time,
• 10 ambient soundscapes,
• 10 matching motion overlays, and
• a fully animated cover image.

Ideally, the Alchemy team will be introducing more content from Darren Pres in the near future, meshing with gamers’ requests. According to the studio, players have already started to share positive feedback on the new content.

On the other side of the partnership, Van Norman shared their satisfaction with their Early Access performance and its debut on Alchemy.

“We’ve been watching Alchemy since the launch of their Early Access product and have been impressed with how they’ve grown and matured the platform into what it is today. We’re excited to offer our games on Alchemy and provide new ways for our community to experience them.”

Alchemy is one of the world’s first virtual tabletops (VTT or Web VTT) designed for cinematic immersion and theater of the mind gameplay.
