Of all the games I have played, read about, or reviewed, my favorite is StarCraft. Even though it was not one of the most popular, in 1998, it made a difference. It was the pastime of my job.

According to Wikipedia, Starcraft is still the most popular eSports game. “StarCraft is alsoÂthe most popular computer game competition during the annual World Cyber Games thanks to its Korean fanbase, and it is overall one of the world’s largest computer and video game competitions in terms of prize money, global coverage, and participants.”

During the first installment of the StarCraft series, I was between college and a part-time job. Since the call center had peak hours, my supervisor installed the game on the server. We took advantage of his gift.

The game took off with impressive sales, leaving almost all other games behind. Onereport sums up the sales released by the game studio Blizzard.

“The StarCraft and StarCraft II series had sold over 17.6 million copies of games and expansions by the end of 2015. By the end of 2017, Blizzard had listed the combined StarCraft franchise among their brands that have lifetime revenue totaledÂover $1 billion.”

What is Starcraft?

Notably, Starcraft is a real-time strategy game based on space exploration. The game pits three factions against each other in a battle royale format where the winner keeps all. If you dig playing Destinyor watching Star Trek, you are bound to love playing this game.

One special feature ofStarcraftis mining diamonds as base material to build your world and equipment. As explorers advance on the map, they hunt and mine diamonds to construct buildings, soldiers, and weapons.

As a practical player, I easily identify with acquiring resources to finance my endeavors. In this type of economy, you set the only limits.

Another aspect that impressed me was the characteristics of the factions. Of the three groups, my favorite was the Terran, a rather human-like form. All elements and features identify with the human race, from vehicles to weapons toÂbunkers, etc.

Unlike most games where time is of the essence, StarCraft allows you to play at your own pace. However, if you take too much delay, you may find that their are no diamonds left to mine.

However, I also admired some of the features displayed by the Protoss. This faction has the power of invisibility and is hard to kill.Thus, sometimes, when there were too many Terrans players, I would play Protoss.

How to Play Starcraft?

Besides its excellent characterization, I also admired the lore and howfar reaching were the gameplay concepts and battle strategies. Specifically, one of my favorites was using atomic bombs.The process involved mining,enrichment cycle, building a reactorand eventually nuking the enemy.

Playing Starcraft begins with choosing your race and getting ready for battle. As you start to scout for minefields, you must also build and train an army.

1. Create soldiers and workers to build factories, mine diamonds, and scout the map.
2. Build scientific centers to research advanced technologies and create effective weapons. The Terrans use torrets for air defense and a scientific center to improve the quality of armor and vehicle shields.
3. Attacking and destroying your enemy is the center of the game.

As you play the game, you will discover that StarCraft is a lot more than just a war game. There is also a space map.

Starcraft Naval Wars

The battle for the universe takes a new twist as you build and direct your fleet against enemy forces. Starcraft brings you into new frontiers where you can fight and invade enemy territories.

As popular as Terrans are, most people chose the Zergs to invade space. For StarCraft naval wars, most players buildhuge battleships with enhanced weapons and force shields. Even so, they have an extremely hard time fighting against the Zergs. The race is a tough one and hard to kill.
